Finish The Promise: September 22

Thanks to the incredibly generous donations of so many of you, the Finish Line is in sight! We are again experiencing the power we can create when we all come together.

Two months ago, we set an audacious goal of paying off First Universalist’s $1.34 million construction loan before October. That’s when the loan’s interest rate will increase – possibly doubling what it is now. This sounded like an impossible task, but we’re almost there!

To date, the congregation has committed more than $1.16 million. On top of that, an anonymous donor will help us Finish the Promise by matching dollar-for-dollar the next $80,000 in gifts or pledges. That leaves us with $100,000 remaining. 

In other words—assuming we can tap into the full match—we are 93% of the way there! 

Please help us cross the finish line. Whether you give now (select “Give to Finish The Promise”) or make a pledge to give later in the church year, your contribution will count toward the match as long as we know about it before our October deadline. Keep in mind that all gifts are fully tax deductible. 

Here’s how you can play a part: 

• Give directly via this online link, being sure you designate it for “Finish the Promise”
• Send a check or transfer stock to First Universalist but let Brad Schmidt (church Finance Manager) know that it’s coming. 
• Pledge to give via this online form.
• Let Rev. Jen Crow or a Finish The Promise team member (listed on this link) know of your intentions.
