Opportunities galore: Let’s go!

Dear First Universalist Church,

This Sunday at church has opportunities galore for all ages. 

As we continue with one worship service at 10 a.m. we will be led by powerful storyteller and preacher Jim Bear Jacobs. This is also the first Sunday of Religious Education during worship, and Sign-Up Sunday after the service. You don’t want to miss it!

Here’s what you need to know for the first Sunday of Religious Education:

This Sunday, we launch our ministries that take place during the service for kids in grades Kindergarten through 8th/9th Grade Our Whole Lives. Programs after the service, including Coming of Age, Middle School and High School Youth Groups, and Post-Worship Childcare all launch next Sunday, Sept. 27. 

This Sunday and every Sunday we offer staffed childcare during worship from 9:45 – 11:15 a.m. for our youngest children, ages 6 months through PreK in room 104. 

Kids in Kindergarten through 7th grade begin in the worship service with their families at 10 a.m. Around 15 to 20 minutes into the service, they will be dismissed to their Religious Education or OWL program. 

Youth in 8th/9th Grade OWL begin their session in Room 201 right at 10 a.m. – they do not begin in the service. 

All Religious Education sessions and childcare end at 11:15 a.m. Kids in Kindergarten through 5th grade must be picked up at their room by a parent or caregiver. Youth in 6th grade and older are dismissed from their rooms by their Advisors and are free to find their families in the Social Hall. 

Families, if you would like your kids to participate in our Children, Youth, and Family Ministries at church this year – including Our Whole Lives (OWL), Religious Education, youth groups, overnights, Saturday Sprouts, and more – please register your family here. For Our Whole Lives only, registration closes on Sept. 21 for 8th/9th Grades and Sept. 28 for 6th Grade. 

After the service, join us for our Fall Sign-Up Sunday! Meet congregants and staff who are leading groups and programs, along with folks serving on a variety of ministry teams. They will be in the Social Hall to answer your questions, share more about opportunities to connect, and get you signed up to participate. It is a fun way to explore so much of what is happening here at church. The Fall Program Guide will be available next week.
