Post-Election Pastoral Message
News –
Dear Ones,
My heart is broken and breaking for the people, the life, the earth that I love and all that the years ahead will mean. And I want you to remember that you are not alone today, tomorrow or in the years to come. We are holding this together.
We have A Place for You tonight at 7 pm in person at church and online to gather to sing, pray, breathe, and hold each other in care. In this time, the purpose of our church and our faith in the world is excruciatingly clear: solidarity and resistance.
For some of us, the message that we are not wanted or valued in this country is coming through loud and clear. In this church community,
We will keep building beloved community together.
Trans and non-binary beloveds are called holy.
Bodily autonomy and reproductive justice are sacred.
BlPOC and queer leadership shape our future.
Immigrants have sanctuary.
Every child is worthy of protection.
In this church, regardless of the lies the world and our own government may try to tell us, we know that each and every person is whole and holy and worthy. We believe in the transformative power of love in our lives and in the world. We know that we have each other’s backs – and that who we mean by “we” is ever-expanding, not ever-constricting.
I’m grateful to be in this with each of you.
Rev. Jen
As we move into this day and the days ahead, the Stewardship Team invites you to build up this place we can count on. The board and several other members of the congregation have made a $3300 matching gift as a part of our early Give to the Max Campaign. Can you help us meet that match today as a gift of hope?
