Holiday Display in The Sanctuary | Bring A Stuffed Animal!
News –
The sanctuary decorations are created by the Visual Arts Team as our gift to the congregation. This holiday season, we present a forest of birch trees. As we experience the darkest days of the year the moon shines brightly over the snowy forest. Small animals find a place to hibernate among snow and trees. Tall conifers frame our forest, providing home to cardinals who share their songs, strengthening their bonds with one another all winter long.
Birch trees are found throughout the northern hemisphere. For cultures around the world, the tree holds important symbolism and spiritual significance including healing, protection, love, and renewal. Its ability to thrive in harsh conditions speaks to its resilience and strength, offering a sense of hope and encouragement. As we hold honest hope through December and look to rest and resilience in January, the birch reminds us that despite the conditions around us, we can thrive together.
