Post-Election Community Gathering will be held at Sanctuary
Post-Election Community Gathering
Friends,
This morning, no matter our particular political leanings, many of us were stunned that the country elected Donald Trump as our next president. You have been reaching out, sharing the weight of the sadness, fear, anger, and worry that you are holding today. Much of this has been happening on social media, and while that can be helpful, we need the physical presence of one another. This is no time to be alone.
Tonight, we invite you to join us for a service of silence, music, prayer, poetry and spiritual practice. The sanctuary will be open tonight beginning at 6:15 p.m., with a short service beginning at 6:30 p.m. All are welcome – friends, family, and children.
We will come together to hold all that we are feeling and to rest in the presence of one another. We will remember that we are not alone. We are here for each other and our neighbors, and we are all connected to one another and the larger web of life. This story is not finished.
Our community has multiple opportunities to gather: Shir Tikvah Congregation is hosting aMulti-Faith Post Election Gathering for Hope at 7pm on Thursday, and of course, come to church on Sunday. Bring your neighbors, friends, and family. This is a time to be together. We look forward to being with you.
In faith,
Justin and Jen and the First Universalist Ministry Team
