Let’s Build Beloved Community Together

News –

Dear First Universalist Beloveds,

As the seasons turn and the air is (finally!) cooling, we are called once again into the rhythms of belonging, connection, and renewal of the church year. This fall, we invite you to deepen your relationships with one another and with the larger vision of building a beloved community—a place where we remember we are not alone, but holding it all together.

On Fall Sign-Up Sunday, Sept. 21, explore the many pathways of connection and practice here at First U: small groups, justice teams, spiritual growth, and more. You’ll meet facilitators who are eager to help you find your next step into belonging—just go down to the Social Hall after worship (both services!).

One way to enter into this spirit is through our monthly Community Dinners (Oct. 8, Nov. 12, Dec. 10). Share a delicious homemade meal, then join breakout groups to connect across generations and discover new ways to get involved. All ages are welcome, with age-appropriate programs for children and youth!

For families, there are rich opportunities to grow together. From our Fall Family Overnight (Sept. 26–27) and monthly Saturday Sprouts gatherings, to youth groups, retreats, and Common Ground Sundays, children and teens are invited into circles of friendship, reflection, and joy.

Connection also happens around tables and in living rooms. Circle Suppers will bring us into one another’s homes for potluck meals and laughter, while our Family Holiday Potluck (Dec. 17) is a chance to celebrate the season together in abundance and care.

This fall also offers spaces for deepening the spirit: walking the labyrinth under the full moon, practicing Qigong for liberation, joining a book or discussion circle, or finding solace and connections in our support groups. Each gathering, whether rooted in justice, art, care, or celebration, is part of the larger weaving of our lives together.

Whatever path you take, you are invited into more than just programming—you are invited into community, into relationships of care and accountability, and into the ongoing work of shaping a world of love and justice.

Come, bring your whole self, and let’s create this beloved community together.

With warmth and anticipation,

Rev. Ashley
