Build Up A Place You Can Count On

Dear First U Beloved Community,
I have a heavy heart this week as I contemplate what comes next, it feels like scary days are ahead of us. But friends, I attended the vigil at church a week ago today and I cried because I was glad to be amongst other humans who believe that love is the answer. First Universalist is a sanctuary, offered to folks who need a beacon of hope. Our world is hurting right now, and this community is more needed than ever. We are here for each other, and here for those who need community in this moment of uncertainty. Let’s BE the hope that the world needs right now.
Our board of trustees and a couple of very generous congregants are going to match $3,300 for Give to the Max. That means that if our beloved congregation can raise $3,300, it will be matched, getting us closer to our $10,000 goal this year that will sustain our resistance.
I know that talking about money might feel wrong right now, but investing in our beloved community is what will keep me going in the days to come. It will give me the energy to keep up the good fight and feel like all is not lost.
Will you join me in giving today?
In Gratitude,
Emily Wallace, Stewardship Team Member
