Falling Into Questions

Falling Into Questions

Answers fall from towering questions like acorns from oak trees, whose hard shells must crack and break open if their vital cores are to be released. Doesn’t life similarly insist on such opening to the humus and elemental questions of birth and death, of our undetermined possibility and unremitting fragility? Like spiritual trip-wires laid across our familiar paths, questions impossible to evade ambush the pottering progress of our days and ask if we know the touch and feel of the life itself. Like Zen koans, such unanswerable questions grab hold of us, bring us out into the wild creativity of life, and crack open the truth and beauty enclosed within our own hearts. Questions that are no different than the touch of a friend’s hand, the sharing of a cup of tea, and the intimate touch of the Source of life itself.

Worship begins at 10 a.m. Download the August 16 Order of Service.
