What Word Do You Claim in the New Year?

January 27, 2021
Rev. Justin Schroeder

Rev. Justin writes: In their poem, “Relentless,” my colleague, the Rev. Sean Parker Dennison, shares a practice of claiming a word for the New Year – a word to guide our actions and our choices, a word to help us choose new behaviors and ways of being. What word is your word for 2021? How might this word help you live differently in the days and weeks to come? In our service this Wednesday, Jan. 27, we’ll explore the power of claiming a word, and letting that word shape our being as we intentionally choose change in this New Year.

This midweek worship experience for adults and older youth is a brief time (20-30 minutes) of connection, centering, and reflection, to help us find and keep our balance during this time of pandemic and physical distancing.

Care Companions space – 7:30 p.m.
We know that worship can take us into deep and surprising places. If you find yourself needing to talk with someone about what is stirring for you after worship, please speak with one of our care companions in a confidential zoom room after the service. This is how we care for one another.
