The kitchen is crowded space that the church currently shares with two renters – The Sioux Chef and Southside Child Development Center. Please do not use their equipment or leave any items in areas designated for their use. Their equipment is specifically marked and/or stored in labelled areas. Only use equipment and materials that are in First Universalist storage areas. This is especially important as the Sioux Chef has to follow strict health codes as a caterer, and needs to keep control of their supplies and equipment.
After every event/use of the kitchen, the kitchen must be cleaned and everything must be put away in its original location. Anything you brought with you must leave with you on the same day. Dishes must be scraped into the organics bin and thoroughly rinsed before being put into dishwasher racks. If you use enough dishes to fill one or more racks, it is your responsibility to run them through the dishwasher. Remember that the dishwasher takes 20-30 minutes to heat up before it is ready for use. Be sure to wipe down countertops and the stovetop and sweep the floors as well.
