Workshop
The first ever Minneapolis Lantern Fest will Light the Winter Night on February 21 from 5 pm – 8 pm in Downtown Minneapolis at Cancer Survivors Park. Come take part in the festivities complete with illuminated lanterns, music, food and more.
Or participate and be a part of the experience: bring friends and family of all ages and abilities to a free lantern making workshop. Learn to build your own paper lantern with the help and guidance of In the Heart of the Beast (HOBT) teaching artists at a workshop hosted by First Universalist Church on Feb. 18. Then come to Mpls Lantern Fest on Feb. 21, where workshop participants will convene with their illuminated lanterns to join in a movement of light beginning at 6 pm. The lantern you make is yours to take home afterwards. FREE and open to all ages and abilities, and all supplies are provided. HOBT teaching artists will be demonstrating how to construct the lanterns throughout the workshop, so drop by at any time between 6pm and 8pm.
