Daytime Connections: How to Cook a Wolf
No, it’s not what’s for lunch. The cookbook by MFK Fisher asks us, “Do you hear the wolf at your door?” When electricity, gas, food and money are in short supply, the wolf of fear puts its nose to our doors and huffs and snuffles. Recipes for coping with scarcity and heartening our spirit, along with a good dose of laughter, is the focus here.
We know life is full of hard edges and complicated choices. Motivational speaker Jennifer Fernjack shares her own story of how emotional grit helped her conquer the biggest challenge of her life. Learn how to reduce or eliminate fear by embracing it; how the science of optimism can change your brain chemistry; how perspective and gratitude can carry you.
Through Daytime Connections, older adults at First Universalist empower each other to live intentional, joyful, purposeful, and spiritually fulfilled lives.

Lunches are provided at the end of Daytime Connections programs, but they aren’t free, nor are they subsidized by the church. With our extremely limited budget, we depend on your contributions to provide the meals. Therefore, we suggest a sliding scale contribution of $5 to $15 (more if you can, less if you can’t). No one will be turned away.
