Every year, the Board of Trustees shares a draft budget with the congregation at meetings in late April/early May. The board prepares a final version of the budget for presentation at our Annual Meeting, which this year is scheduled for Sunday, June 3 at 11:30 a.m. (following the one 10 a.m. service). You can view the proposed operating budget narrative and summary here: 2018-19 Proposed Operating Budget.

General Assembly (GA) is the annual meeting of our Unitarian Universalist Association (UUA). Part liberal religious meet-up, part UUA business meeting, GA is a jam-packed few days with amazing people, seminars, worship services, Robert’s Rules, and even a dance or two. Attendees worship, witness, learn, connect, and make policy for the Association through democratic process.
This year’s conference is Wednesday, June 20 to Sunday, June 24 in Kansas City, Missouri, and online. Registration for each General Assembly (GA) generally opens on March 1, and information can be found here.
Anyone may attend GA. To attend as one of First Universalist Church official 20 delegates, please talk to someone on the Nominating Committee or email (nomination@firstuniv.org) before June 1st. You must be an active member. Delegates need to be officially approved by the congregation at our annual meeting.

Due to blizzard conditions that are expected to last well into Sunday, we have made the decision to cancel worship services, Religious Education classes, and all events and meetings that were scheduled to take place at church tomorrow, Sunday, April 15. The church building will be closed all day Sunday and will reopen on Monday morning. We’ll share information about rescheduled activities when it’s available.
This was a very tough decision to make, but we want to ensure that everyone stays safe, including the large number of volunteers and staff it takes to make Sundays at church happen.
If you are needing to connect with a minister this weekend, our Pastoral Care line can be accessed by calling our main office number at 612-825-1701 and following the prompts for speaking to a minister.
We’ll miss you tomorrow! Stay safe, and we’ll see you in church next Sunday, April 22.
