Electronics Collection Event will be held at parking lot
Electronics Collection Event
Members, friends and neighbors are invited to drop off unneeded electronics at an electronics collection event in our church parking lot, sponsored by First Universalist’s Environmental Justice group.
For this event, we are partnering with Tech Dump, a local nonprofit which provides job training and practical experience for adults facing barriers to employment. Tech Dump never exports unprocessed materials out of the country. They reuse where possible, then recycle, and they guarantee that all data is destroyed at their facility.
Items accepted include notebooks/laptops/desktops/servers, unbroken flat panel TV’s and Monitors, hard drives/motherboards/switches/routers/firewalls, cell phones/iPads-Pods/tablets/MP3 players, stereos/speakers/audio receivers, printers, scanners, VCRs, DVD players, misc. household electronics, and cables/cords/chargers.
Commodity prices have decreased dramatically the last two years and recycling costs have increased. We ask for and need a donation of between 50 cents and $1 per pound of donated items. There is a larger charge for CRT TVs and monitors, depending on the size.
Boxes for you to drop off smaller electronic items will also be in the church Sunday, March 11 through Sunday, March 18. This box can hold laptops and smaller electronics such as phones, cords, etc.
We are honored to partner with Tech Dump on this event!
