Please note that effective immediately, the church offices will be closed on Fridays.

After much thought and consideration, we arrived at this decision. The reason is simple: we wanted to give our administrative staff uninterrupted time to work on major initiatives that they had on their plates. Closing the office and building on Fridays means that our administrative staff will have uninterrupted working time.

Having reduced office hours or closing the office for a day is not unusual in churches. In fact, at First Unitarian Rochester, the church that Rev. Jen Crow previously served at, they had daily office hours of 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Making this switch to closing the office on Fridays will make a tremendous difference for our administrative staff, as they move forward with implementing a new database, continue to rebuild and update the website, implement a new calendaring software, and dig into projects that need sustained focus and uninterrupted time. This change will make a significant difference for our administrative staff, as far as their workflow and effectiveness.
