Life Passages at First Universalist Church
First Universalist Church celebrates significant events in the lives of our members and friends. The process for planning and scheduling is described below.
Weddings and Unions
First Universalist offers space and officiants for wedding ceremonies and receptions for both church members and non-members on a differing scale of fees with packages for small and large weddings available. Our ministers are happy to work with each couple to create a ceremony unique to their lives and wishes. Our staff can also help by suggesting musicians and caterers for ceremonies and receptions. To check on availability of ministers and dates and to learn more about the packages we offer, email communications [at] firstuniv.org.
Memorial Services
Our ministers and other Unitarian Universalist clergy affiliated with the church are happy to work with families to plan a meaningful memorial or funeral to honor and celebrate the life of a loved one. Our ministers meet with family members to create a service that honors the life of the deceased and reflects the wishes and beliefs of the family. A reception following the service is available to church members and is planned through consultation with the family and a church volunteer. Use of the space and a minister to officiate is part of First Universalist membership.
As with weddings, memorial services are offered to the larger community with a differing scale of fees. Email communications [at] firstuniv.org for more information.
