Volunteer at Church
Join a Lend-A-Hand Team
Lend-A-Hand is an opportunity to help care for our building and grounds as part of a volunteer team, meeting on first Thursdays. In coordination with our facilities staff, this team undertakes various projects to keep our church clean, orderly and attractive.
Cleaning activities might include dusting, sweeping, mopping, or vacuuming. Volunteers might help tidy the sanctuary, social hall, library, entryway, or other spaces, or help fix things: replace light bulbs, repair window openers, patch/paint walls, etc.
Volunteers gather at 9:30 a.m. and end their activities by noon. Each Lend-A-Hand activity has slots for 12 volunteers. If you would like to participate, please email Sandy at email@example.com to sign up. Thank you!
Join our Office Volunteer Team
We are always looking for dedicated volunteers to staff the front desk and help with mailings. Contact Chelsea Bertsch at 612-825-1701 or email firstname.lastname@example.org. For more information about this opportunity, check out the description here.
Join the Congregational Care Team
Our congregational care team helps members of First Universalist Church in their time of need.
Participate on a Welcome Team on Sunday
12-16 people serve on each team, one Sunday per month, to help newcomers navigate the building, keep the coffee stations stocked, answer questions, greet people at the front door, and more. It’s a great way to meet others and find new friends, while helping our church provide a warm greeting to all who seek us. Email Sandy at email@example.com or sign up at The Hub.
Join a Committee
Please see our Committees page for more information.
Volunteer with one of our Partnerships
We currently have seven official Faithful Action partner organizations. A community partnership is a relationship between First Universalist Church and an organization in the community that shares our vision of love and justice. One of the ways we work with our partners is by connecting our members with volunteer opportunities at each organization.
If you are interested in volunteering, contact the team leads listed by each organization. To learn more about these partnerships, visit our Partnerships page.
