What Will You Do With Your One Precious Life?

What Will You Do With Your One Precious Life?

July 20, 2014
Guest Minister, Rev. Mary Bohman

The reality remains: each of us born will die. The seeds of our death are planted in our birth. Death is part of the rhythm of life, the circle of life. Yet, many of us spend our lives denying death or avoiding it as much as possible. What would happen if we view death as a great teacher? Death teaches us about suffering, impermanence, joy, and the preciousness of our lives. As the poet says, “Sit. Feast on Your Life…open to this life now.”

Rev. Mary Bohman is a Unitarian Universalist Community Minister in Affiliation with First Universalist Church; she works as a hospice chaplain. For 10 years she directed the Children’s Choir and helped coordinate the children’ s religious education program at First Universalist.
