First Universalist Choir and Orchestra to present Schicksalslied this Sunday during Worship
For the past four months, the First Universalist Choir has been working on Johannes Brahms’ masterwork Schicksalslied. (translated as Song of Destiny). The text, a poem by Friedrich Hölderlin contrasts the lives of those who live a blissful existence with those who are caught in perpetual suffering. Brahms struggled for three years before finishing this original and profound composition. Conductor Randal Buikema along with our 70 member choir and 25 member orchestra will take you on an intense musical journey not to be missed!
