Seniors Hike with Daytime Connections will be held at Crosby Farm Regional Park
Seniors Hike with Daytime Connections
Join other First U seniors for a hike in Crosby Farm Regional Park on Thursday, Oct. 26 at 10 a.m.
Meet at Crosby Farm Regional Park at 10 a.m. The park access road is at the top of the Shepard Road hill as it heads toward downtown St. Paul. This is close to the intersection of Davern St. and Shepard Road. Follow the signs to Watergate Marina. We will meet at the park shelter just past the marina. Here is a map of Crosby Farm Regional Park.
The hike route will take us along the north bank of the Mississippi River and a floodplain lake called Crosby Lake. The majority of the route is on asphalt surface and fairly flat. It is part of the Minnesota Regional Trail system. We will hike about two hours; however, there are cutoffs that will allow for shorter hikes, if preferred.
It is bird migration time, so we will have the opportunity to see some unique bird species as they head south to their southern wintering grounds. Following the hike, we will gather at the Highland Grill in Highland Park for hydration and sustenance for those interested. The restaurant is located just north of the intersection of Ford Parkway and Cleveland Ave. (771 Cleveland Ave. S., St. Paul, MN 55116).
If you would like to join the group for the hike, please RSVP to Tom Saterstrom (e-mail: firstname.lastname@example.org; or cell: 952-239-3629).
