Senior Hike with Daytime Connections will be held at MN Valley National Wildlife Refuge
Senior Hike with Daytime Connections
Start 2018 on the right foot and break the cabin fever from our early January arctic cold snap by joining us for our next Senior hike!
Meet at Long Meadow Lake Unit/Bass Ponds at Minnesota Valley National Wildlife Refuge, 2501 86th St. E., Bloomington, 55425.
Bass Ponds Parking is located just south of the Mall of America. View trail maps and navigation to the parking area here.
From the north: follow 24th St/Old Shakopee Rd. south past the Mall; watch for the brown “Trailhead” sign and turn east on 86th St; turn left at the Bass Pond sign.
From the west: follow Old Shakopee Rd; continue east past Hwy 77, watch for the brown “Trailhead” sign; continue as directed above.
The group will hike for 1.5-2 hours depending on weather conditions. The hiking route will offer cutoff opportunities to shorten the hike as desired. The route is fairly flat, but consider bringing hiking poles and ice spikes for your footwear to improve traction and safety. Dress in layers, including face cover, as appropriate for the conditions.
Following the hike, the group will gather at Town Hall Lanes located at 5019 34th Ave. So. for warmth, sustenance, hydration and convivial conversation.
Please RSVP Tom Saterstrom (cell: 952-239-3629 or e-mail: firstname.lastname@example.org) if you would like to participate.
